Family Honors Anime Fan Killed While Serving in Iraq

posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
A tree planted at the Fort Stewart U.S. Army base in honor of an American soldier recently killed in Iraq has been decorated by family members with an anime character figure. 19-year-old Private First Class Christian Neff was killed in action in Baghdad on September 19. Because Neff was an anime fan, his family hung one of his figures from the newly dedicated tree. Each of the 373 Eastern Redbud trees in the Warriors Walk memorial honors a soldier from Fort Stewart's Third Infantry Division who has been killed while serving in Iraq.
