Creator Terasawa to write, direct video version; director Dezaki to do same for TV

The official website for manga creator Buichi Terasawa (Goku - Midnight Eye, Kabuto) has confirmed that the recently announced Cobra the Space Pirate animation project will come in two forms: an original anime video (OVA) project and a television project. Terasawa will write, storyboard, and direct the OVA version. Veteran director Osamu Dezaki (Bionic Six, Black Jack the Movie, Golgo 13 the Professional) will write, storyboard, and direct the television version with the animators of Magic Bus. The projects will mark the 30th anniversary of Terasawa's original 1978 Cobra science-fiction pulp manga about a pirate and his female android partner. Dezaki directed the 1982 animated film adaptation and the 1982-1983 animated remake.
