The Japanese unit of the online retailer Amazon has announced on Tuesday its top 10 lists for the 12 months between December 2007 and November 2008. Nodame Cantabile repeated the success it had the previous year by topping the Japanese comic chart with its 20th volume. #2's Yotsuba&! volume 8 tied into an exclusve "Amazon.co.jp box version" of Revoltech Danbo Mini figure. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind benefited along with all things Hayao Miyazaki created as his latest film, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, stayed in the Japanese box office for months.
Similarly Zero no Tsukaima, Spice and Wolf, and Full Metal Panic! benefited from recent or ongoing anime releases to rank at the top of the light novel chart. In fact, of all ten light novel series on the chart, only two have no anime adaptations.
