Police in Saitama Prefecture arrested a 26-year-old Kanazawa City part-time worker on Thursday on suspicion of posting songs from AKB48 and other artists on the video streaming service niconico (formerly known as Nico Nico Douga) without authorization. The suspect allegedly posted AKB48's Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e ~Ikemen Paradise 2011 theme song "Flying Get" and seven other songs on niconico between June 8 and June 17, thus violating the copyrights of five record companies.

According to the police, the suspect made videos by mixing anime songs from AKB48 and other artists with anime images. The suspect reportedly uploaded about 500 songs "to gain viewers."
