Square Enix Files for 'Drag-on Dragoon' (Drakengard) Trademark

Game developer Square Enix filed for trademark registration on the term "Drag-on Dragoon" for use in games on December 20 in Japan. Under Japanese law, registration on trademarks must be renewed every 10 years.
Drag-on Dragoon was a PlayStation 2 action role-playing game released by Square Enix and Cavia in 2003. The game was retitled as Drakengard for the North American and European release in 2004. The game received a sequel, Drag-on Dragoon 2: Fūin no Aka, Haitoku no Kuro (Drakengard 2) in 2005.
