PictureBox to Release New Gay Erotic Manga Anthology Next Year

Gengoroh Tagame, Takeshi Matsu, Jiraiya, Go Fujimoto, more to be featured in new collection

North American publisher PictureBox announced on Friday at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival that it will be releasing a new gay erotic manga anthology collection titled Massive: Gay Erotic Manga and the Men Who Make It in spring 2014. The collection will feature manga by Jiraiya, Gengoroh Tagame, Takeshi Matsu, Seizoh Ebisubashi, Go Fujimoto and Kazuhide Ichikawa. The tentative lineup also includes: Guy Mizuki, Inu Yoshi, Fumi Miyabi, Kumada Poohsuke, and Noda Gaku.

Anne Ishii, Graham Kolbeins, and Chip Kidd will work on the release. The three previously worked on PictureBox's The Passion of Gengoroh Tagame: The Master of 'Bara' Manga, which is making its debut at the festival this weekend. Tagame himself is also attending the festival.

The Passion of Gengoroh Tagame: The Master of 'Bara' Manga is Tagame's first North American and English-language collection. A translation of Tagame's short comic "Standing Ovations" was previously published in English last year in the third volume of Thickness, a North American independent erotic comics collection.
