Seitokai Yakuindomo Anime Gets 2nd TV Season, New OAD

Main cast members return for 2nd season with "powered-up double entendres"

This year's 46th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on Wednesday that a second season of the anime adaptation of Tozen Ujiie's Seitokai Yakuindomo* manga has been green-lit. In addition, a new original anime DVD (OAD) will be bundled with the limited edition of the 10th manga volume.

For the second season, the anime's main cast will be reprising their roles, with Yōko Hikasa as Shino Amakusa, Shintarō Asanuma as Takatoshi Tsuda, Sayuri Yahagi as Suzu Hagimura, and Satomi Satou as Aria Shichijō.

In response to the anime's second season, Hikasa said, “In a good way, it is just the same as always... But the double entendres are powered up!”

Asanuma also left a message for readers, saying, “I think it's a good thing that we're able to talk about erotic things in a humorous tone. However, you must not say any of the jokes in the manga in public! At the least, just talk among guys, or in the corner of a club room, or in [the Japanese chat app] Line... Boys, Be Ambitious! (laughs)”

The story centers around Ōsai Academy, a former all-girls private high school which has recently been integrated for both genders. The student body is split between 524 girls and 28 boys. Takatoshi Tsuda is pushed into becoming the vice-president of the student council, where he is the lone male member surrounded by girls.

The slice-of-life comedy story already inspired a television anime series, an original video anime project, and several previous anime DVDs bundled with the manga.
