Takahiro Sakurai plays doting dog spirit in October show

Media Factory began streaming the second commercial for the television anime of Midori Endō's Gugure! Kokkuri-san manga on Monday. The character Inugami (as played by Takahiro Sakurai) narrates with the opening theme song "Welcome!! Disco Kemokemoke" in the background.

Inugami: I have appeared as a dog god to Lady Kohina who is in our care. Also, I came in by "peeking" through the back door. Gugure! Kokkuri-san will broadcast on the following channels in October.
Text: A not-so-everyday-life fluffy comedy!!

In the anime's story, Kohina Ichimatsu is a little girl who summons a Kokkuri-san, a lower-ranking ghost in Japanese folklore. The Kokkuri-san she calls ends up being a white-haired handsome, young man. Although he had intended to merely haunt her at first, he becomes worried about her terrible eating habit of cup ramen for every meal, so he decides to haunt her in order to protect her. To complicate matters, Kohina's doting dog spirit, Inugami, and no-good tanuki, Shigaraki, join them.

The anime stars:

Ryou Hirohashi (Working!!, Kaleido Star) as Kohina Ichimatsu

Daisuke Ono (Durarara!, Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil) as Kokkuri-san

Jouji Nakata (Fate/Zero, Sgt. Frog) as Shigaraki

Takahiro Sakurai (.hack//Roots, Noragami) as Inugami

Hisako Kanemoto (Squid Girl, Sailor Moon Crystal) as Jimeko

Kazutomi Yamamoto (Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, Blood Lad) as Yamamoto-kun

Voice actress Yukari Tamura (Myself;Yourself, No-rin) is also starring in the series as the narrator.

Yoshimasa Hiraike (Working!!, Amagami SS) is directing the anime at TMS Entertainment (Yowamushi Pedal, Brave10). Miwa Oshima (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, GJ Club) is designing the characters.

Endō launched the manga in 2011, and Square Enix shipped the sixth compiled volume in Japan in March. The anime will premiere on October 5.
