Bandai Namco's new family anime branch to launch in April

Bandai Namco Pictures, the new children's intellectual property production arm of Bandai Namco Holdings, announced its first original anime project on Friday. The anime, MILPOM★, will be stop motion shorts that feature dolls in a surreal world for girls.

The company unveiled a key visual and pilot at Anime Japan this weekend. The pilot is now streaming with English subtitles:

MILPOM★ is slated for this summer. The anime stars Hikari Shiina as the main character Milpom and Ai Matsumoto as her friend Ponpon.

Bandai Namco Pictures will officially launch in April, and will handle Sunrise's intellectual property aimed at children and family, such as the Aikatsu! anime.
