Game commemorating 45th franchise anniversary ships in 2016 for PS3/PS4/PS Vita

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Kamen Rider Battride War Genesis, a new installment of its Kamen Rider Battride War crossover game series, on Thursday. The company also opened an official website for the game, and is streaming a promotional video with the announcement.

The game celebrates the Kamen Rider franchise's 45th anniversary. In the game's plot, the Riders are disappearing one by one, and must rely on a new hope. The video hints at Kamen Rider 1 from the first 1971 Kamen Rider series.

Both the official website and the trailer feature the Kamen Rider Ghost character from the upcoming Kamen Rider Ghost series.

The game is slated for release in 2016 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.

Bandai Namco Entertainment previously opened a Tokyo Game Show website in August that hosted an image for the then-unannounced Kamen Rider Battride War Genesis game.

Kamen Rider Battride War II for PlayStation 3 and Wii U shipped last June. The game series features characters from years of Kamen Rider television shows and movies.

The new Kamen Rider Ghost series will premiere on TV Asahi in October 4.
