Wartime film opens more widely at the end of the month.

Tickets are now available for the two screenings of the feature film In This Corner of the World at the Edinburgh Film Festival: the first on Thursday June 22 at 8.30 p.m. and the second on Friday June 23 at 6 p.m. Both screenings will be at the Vue Omni Centre cinema.

The film will be released more widely by Manga Entertainment in UK and Irish cinemas on June 28, with further cinema screenings from Friday June 30.

The animated wartime drama is written and directed by Sunao Katabuchi (Mai Mai Miracle, Black Lagoon) and animated by the studio MAPPA (Kids on the Slope, Terror in Resonance). In the film's story, a bride named Suzu Urano moves to her new life in Kure City on the coast of Hiroshima Prefecture. The story follows her as she perseveres through World War II.

The global distribution rights to the film had been acquired by Animatsu in June 2016.
