Yamadera having to rouse the crowd into clapping spoke volumes lol

But unless this goes well beyond the scope of what this project seems to be and becomes a definitive telling of the story (by incorporating all the cut or differing scenes from the movie and manga versions), it's hard to feel super excited about something that ultimately feels like filler to tide people over

Uh... yay? I guess?

Totally unnecessary, but whatever. We're getting Moro later. As long this isn't pulling too many resources away from that, I don't give a damn.

The home media version, the only cut avaliable now, was already an extended cut. The hell. The manga really butchered the film so not only Super got to mess with it. Broly has known deleted scenes and the manga extends Super Hero. What are next.meme

Hans Zimmer and Dragon Ball is a combination I never thought I would hear.

I feel like this article is oddly misleading because it doesn't mention that this series, as per the official announcement, is actually an "Enhanced" version of the TV Anime Dragon Ball Super specifically, not the Battle of Gods film itself.

Sure Dragon Ball Super's first story arc was based on the same story as the Battle of Gods film, but with Dragon Ball Super: Beerus using the original Super TV series as its basis for modification, it feels misleading of this article to word things as if it's an enhanced version of the film.
Especially since the broadcast will likely move on to later Super arcs following the "Beerus" section, to lead up to the new Galactic Patrol show. Anime smile + sweatdrop

It wouldn't be wrong to start recognizing that we're in what can be nicknamed a "Dragon Ball Super Kai" era, so to speak.

What the what? This will be the THIRD time they make a new version of the Beerus arc. That's insane. I mean Beerus is a good villain but I don't think anyone looked at this purple cat and thought "I hope they reboot him as many times as Spider-Man."

I wish Toei instead would go back and fix all the problems with the first two seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal over doing yet another version of Battle of Gods.

There's already a better version of the Beerus arc from Super, it's the original Battle of the Gods movie.

Sadly I guess Dragonball is now in the reboot milking stage with Toriyama gone and no one to stop them.

Thank you for pointing this out, with the link as well. We corrected the article.

This is filler. I do not blame the fans for being a bit underwhelmed. If toei insists on exploiting the legacy of Toriyama they could at LEAST TrY and produce new contebt instead of a cheap re-hase of an arc that is quite frankly becoming the most overrated arc in shoneb

Sounds like a Dragon Ball KAI version of Dragon Ball Super.

First the Fish-Man Island arc from One Piece, then the first season of World Trigger, and now the first arc of Dragon Ball Super is getting remade as well. If only Toei cared that much about Saint Seiya to remake the mostly ugly second year of Omega. Toriko's de-fanged, candy-colored adaptation is also something I wish would get remade from scratch.

Milking the cow. I didn't watch the director's cut but the tv's take was filled with padding and inferior animation. The manga just rushed it as much as possible.

Now that a respectful amount of time has passed since Toriyama's death, Toei is in full creative bankruptcy mode. This new cycle of endless remakes is going to make the days of every DBZ game being a rehash of Raditz to Buu look like the good ol' days. Gonna squeeze that stone til it bleeds.

I know a Dragonball remake (probably Z, let's be honest, they're skipping the first half) but I'm not looking forward to it given how toned down and mediocre all the recent remakes of 80s stuff have been like Urusei Yatsura and Ranma. Especially if they can't even show blood anymore like Super seemed to not be able to.
