Games ship, offer new Lycanroc form on November 17

The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel began streaming a new promotional video for the Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon games on Friday. The video teases new story aspects, player character appearances, and the Dusk Form on Lycanroc. The Japanese version of the video also reveals the new Z-Power Ring and additional Z-moves.

The games will feature new terrain and buildings in the Alola region. The story will center on Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma and reveal Necrozma's secrets. Player characters will have new appearances in the game. A special Rockruff that can evolve into the new Dusk Form of Lycanroc will be available through the Nintendo Network from November 17 to January 10.

The player character wears a Z-Ring to use Z-Moves in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. However, players will be able to use a Z-Power Ring in the new games to reveal more Z-Moves. In addition, the new games will feature new Z-Moves for some Pokémon.

The games will ship for the Nintendo 3DS worldwide on November 17. Nintendo revealed the games during its streamed Pokémon Direct presentation in June.

As of January, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games had sold 14.69 million units worldwide since their launch on November 18. The games were Nintendo's best pre-selling games in history. Nintendo shipped 10 million copies worldwide in its initial shipment, a new record for the company.

Nintendo will release Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version for the Virtual Console service on Nintendo 3DS on September 22. The games will be compatible with the Pokémon Bank application. The games debuted for Game Boy Color in Japan in 1999, in North America and Australia in 2000, and in Europe in 2001.
