Symphogear AXZ BD/DVD Releases Include Spinoff Anime Shorts

The official website for Senki Zesshō Symphogear AXZ (pronounced "axis"), the fourth Senki Zesshō Symphogear anime series, revealed on Wednesday that the third to sixth home video DVD and Blu-ray Disc volumes of the anime in Japan will include the Senki Zesshō Shinai Symphogear anime shorts. The shorts will show short stories before and after the events of the anime, and will have 54 episodes in total. The site is streaming clips from some of the episodes.
The third home video volume shipped on Wednesday, with the fourth, fifth, and sixth volumes slated for December 27, January 31, and February 28, respectively.
The show premiered on July 1, and aired its final episode on September 30.
Katsumi Ono, director of the second and third Symphogear anime, returned to direct the fourth series, again at Satelight. Elements Garden again handled the music. Akifumi Kaneko and Noriyasu Agematsu are credited as the original creators.
The franchise premiered with a 13-episode television series in January 2012. The third Symphogear television anime, Senki Zesshō Symphogear GX, aired from July to September of 2015.
In addition to the ongoing fourth season, a fifth season has also been green-lit.
