Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! Reveals 2019 Series Ranking

The 2019 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook reported its list of the top light novel series on Saturday. As with last year, the category is divided between bunkobon (smaller A6-sized books) and tankōbon (larger B6-sized books).

The bunkobon rankings include:

Sabikui no Bisco also topped the "New Title Ranking" list, marking the first time a work has ranked #1 on both the overall bunkobon list and the New Title Ranking list. The novels' illustrator Akagishi K drew an image to commemorate the announcement.

The Ryuo's Work Is Never Done! topped the bunkobon list in the previous two years. Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun ranked at #7 last year, while Boku-tachi no Remake ranked at #6 last year. Sword Art Online ranked at #5 last year.

Honzuki no Gekokujō also ranked at #1 last year. The Monogatari series ranked at #5 last year, while Overlord maintained its #4 ranking from last year. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ranked at #6 last year, while Majo no Tabitabi ranked at #9. Mushoku Tensei ranked #7 last year, while So I'm a Spider, So What? ranked at #2.

Tōma Kamijō and Mikoto Misaka, both from the A Certain Magical Index novels, topped the list of male and female characters, respectively.

Shirabi (The Ryuo's Work Is Never Done!, 86 -Eighty-Six-), Kiyotaka Haimura (A Certain Magical Index, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side: Sword Oratoria), and Fly (Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun, IRODUKU: The World in Colors) topped the list of illustrators.
