Update: This article previously stated that the game will ship on October 18, 2020, but that was an error in Bandai Namco Entertainment's press release. The actual release date is October 18, 2019. We've corrected the below article.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced at "The Future of Digimon" panel on Saturday that it will release the Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition game for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on October 18. The game will launch in Japan a day earlier on October 17. The company also began streaming a trailer for the game.
Bandai Namco Entertainment released the original Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth on PlayStation Vita in Japan in March 2015. Then the game shipped for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in the Americas in February 2016.
Like the first Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth game, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory is a "raising RPG" that takes place in the real and digital worlds. The game tells the story about the "other side of Cyber Sleuth," set in the same setting as the first game. There are more than 320 Digimon that can be raised in the game.
The game features a new protagonist who dives into the world of hackers after he is branded a criminal for an incident he has no memory of. His name, which can be changed, is Keisuke Amasawa (Bandai Namco Entertainment also spells his last name as Amazawa). Players must collect “Hacker's Memory” items to uncover the truth about characters and events in the story.
