The English-subtitled version of the anime will premiere on YouTube and Crunchyroll on August 24. The English-dubbed version will then premiere on YouTube on August 28.

Aina Aiba is performing the opening theme song "Lead the way" produced by Elements Garden's Noriyasu Agematsu, and the CD single will go on sale on October 16. Argonavis — the BanG Dream! franchise's male band composed of voice actors Morishima, Maeda, Hyuga, Shōhei Hashimoto and Masahiro Ito — is performing the ending theme song "Gift," and the CD single with this song and "Starting Over" will go on sale on August 31.

The anime's story will center on the character Shinemon Nitta in his younger days as a third-year high school student before he becomes the manager of Card Capital. The story will be set about ten years before the events of Cardfight!! Vanguard: High School Arc Cont. The characters Mikuru Shindō and Tatsuya Tachibana will appear as first-year junior high school students. Mark Whiting will appear as a third-year high school student, and Rive Shindō will appear as Shinemon's teacher. Other confirmed characters include Misaki Tokura, Esuka Hibino, Nanami Gonomi, Tonori Fujinami, the butler, Yūichirō Kanzaki, Ryūtarō Ōyama, and Rūga Kaizu.

Itsuro Kawasaki (Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT) is directing the anime at OLM. Masanao Akahoshi (Future Card Buddyfight, Future Card Buddyfight 100) is supervising the scripts. Satoshi Isono (Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT, Omamori Himari, Akane Maniax) is designing the characters.

The series will premiere in Japan on TV Aichi and TV Tokyo on August 24 at 8:00 a.m. The anime will debut later that day on BS TV Tokyo, Niigata Sogo Television Inc., Hiroshima Home TV, and Shizuoka Asahi TV. The series will also stream on ABEMA Video, YouTube, and other services.

A previous livestream had also revealed that a new anime season will premiere around April 2020.

The previous Cardfight!! Vanguard: High School Arc Cont. anime premiered on May 11. The series tells new stories of the characters Kourin Tatsunagi, Kai Toshiki, and Kouji Ibuki, and takes place "after the resolution of the crisis wrought by the main antagonist Brandt." The anime features a theme of "crossroads."
