Orange animates 6-minute film about idols taking bride on a car chase

Bandai Namco Entertainment is offering the "Spin-off!" anime short for The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls franchise through its YouTube channel, and The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage and The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls smartphone games on Monday. The short debuted for digital purchase on Amazon Prime Video on November 10.

The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls smartphone game additionally has a special talk episode about the making of the short.

The six-minute short features the new song "'Oumuamua ni Kōun o" (Good Luck to 'Oumuamua) and shows the idols taking on the challenge of a new assignment. Four girls suddenly show up at a wedding ceremony, and they take off with the bride. The bride is confused by all this, as "someone" pursues them to take back the bride with a car chase and a running gun battle.

The cast includes:

Kotomi Aihara as Shiki Ichinose

Yumiri Hanamori as Shin Satō

Kaoru Sakura as Chitose Kurosaki

Eriko Matsui as Nao Kamiya

Hana Tamegai as Risa matoba

Naoki Yoshibe directed the short at the Studio Orange in cooperation with Cygames, Prime Video, the karaoke company Daiichi Kosho (DAM), and Nissin Curry Meshi. Nanami Higuchi (BEASTARS) wrote the script, and Tetsurō Takanashi designed the characters. The short marks the eighth anniversary of The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls franchise.

Bandai Namco Entertainment's Asobi Store will offer a deluxe special Blu-ray Disc that will ship in February. It will include a 40-page setting materials book. The Amazon.co.jp digital purchase of the film includes an exclusive "Spin-Off Reco" bonus with visual audio commentary and music off-stage talk segment by Matsui, Aihara, and Tamegai.
