Anime Festival Indonesia Slated for August 15-16

Singaporean events company Sozo announced on Wednesday that the Indonesian event for its Anime Festival Asia (AFA) convention will take place at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in BSD City, Jakarta.
Last year's AFA Indonesia took place at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta in June 2025.
Sozo organizes the Anime Festival Asia conventions, which take place annually in Singapore, and has also held events in Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Japan. It is one of the largest anime and Japanese pop-culture conventions outside Japan. 2024's Anime Festival Asia in Singapore drew 130,000 attendees. Aside from Anime Festival Asia and its attached I Love Anisong label, Sozo also owns JLive Asia, and organizes the Japan Music Festival brand, and also organizes concerts for individual Japanese acts. Kadokawa acquired Sozo in December 2025.
The convention recently returned to Hong Kong with a new event at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on February 14 and 15, 2026. The convention previously held events in Hong Kong from 2017 to 2019, in collaboration with the C3 Japan Anime & Game Expo, making it the first AFA event in Hong Kong in seven years. The convention is similarly returning to Thailand after nine years, with an event at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand on May 30 and 31.
