Imaginasian TV Presents "Asian-American Experience" PSA Contest

CABLE NETWORK IMAGINASIAN TV TO PRESENT THE FIRST NATIONAL “ASIAN AMERICAN EXPERIENCE” PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (PSA) CONTEST

Winning PSAs to broadcast during Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month on iaTV

NEW YORK, MARCH 21 — Asian American multi-media entertainment company, ImaginAsian Entertainment, Inc., has announced that ImaginAsian TV will present the nation's first and only public service announcement (PSA) contest in celebration of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The contest, entitled “My World, My America,” has the theme of “the Asian American experience.” Each 15-30 second PSA entry will be judged on its creative merit and its interpretation of the theme, in relevance to Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The winning PSA will be broadcast on iaTV throughout May. ImaginAsian TV hopes that this contest will give creative young minds an opportunity to express themselves and to share their thoughts with millions of homes.

“Asian American culture and history should be shared and celebrated by all Americans,” said Michael Hong, CEO of ImaginAsian Entertainment. “As America's first Asian American TV network, ImaginAsian TV is dedicated to help inform our diverse communities and raise awareness on important issues, from social-political concerns to entertainment news to cultural events.”

"The APIA community is growing at an explosive rate, with the number of Asian Americans in the U.S. expected to triple over the next half-century," said Congressman Mike Honda (D-CA), Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC). "Given the increased influence and heightened political profile of the APIA community, it is critically important that Public Service Announcements include APIA faces and discuss issues of importance to the APIA community."

Additionally, Mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom and Mayor of Los Angeles Jim Hahn have said the following: Mayor Newsom has stated that “Asian Americans have made countless, lasting contributions to the very fabric of our society. It is only right that
we acknowledge and honor the culture and history of this unique group of Americans
during Asian American Heritage Month. I encourage everyone, young and old alike, to join me and countless others this May to honor the millions of Asians and Pacific Islanders who have made this country their home.”

"The Asian Pacific American community within Los Angeles is vibrant and vital to our City and I want to encourage all students to celebrate heritage and history by participating in these community events." said Mayor Jim Hahn.

The contest invites all high school and college students of any ethnic background to share his or her experience of Asian America. Interested applicants should send a 15 to 30 second video on DVD or VHS to:
