Crunchyroll and King Records Bring White Album to the World Stage

San Francisco, CA and Tokyo, Japan (October 9, 2009) — Crunchyroll and King Records announced today the addition of WHITE ALBUM to Crunchyroll's Fall 2009 Anime Lineup. Adapted from the visual novel game developed by AQUAPLUS and animated by Seven Arcs, WHITE ALBUM features voice actress-singer superstars Nana Mizuki and Aya Hirano in the lead roles of Rina Ogata and Yūki Morikawa, respectively. More information can be found at http://www.Crunchyroll.com/whitealbum.

Crunchyroll fans love superstar voice actresses like Nana Mizuki and Aya Hirano and they will love WHITE ALBUM,” said Vince Shortino, President of Crunchyroll's Japan office. “This is an amazing story and will be a real treat for everyone.”

“We are excited about bringing this very special title to Crunchyroll,” said Jun Nakanishi, chief sales person at King Records. “We hope that anime fans in the real world will be as touched by the character's singing as much as the fans in the show itself.”

WHITE ALBUM will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, the United Arab Emirates, and Brazil in 480P to Crunchyroll's Anime Members every Wednesday at 12:30PM PST and free of charge to all visitors of Crunchyroll's website and across the Crunchyroll network one (1) week later.

All fans can enjoy all content on the site for free, but Crunchyroll Anime Members benefits include higher quality streams of all shows (in some cases at 720p High Definition Video) with no advertisement and early access to all simulcast shows as early as one (1) hour after its Japan Broadcast. Crunchyroll Anime Membership costs as little as $5 a month and goes directly towards supporting Japan Animation companies. More information, including a two (2) week free trial membership can be found at http://www.Crunchyroll.com/freetrial <http://www.crunchyroll.com/freetrial> .

Title Synopsis:

WHITE ALBUM

[editor's note: See errata below]
The year is 1986, before the bubble burst. The public is unaware as to the impending economic collapse. It is a time when the men on trains only listened to horse racing, baseball, or English conversation on their earphones. It is a time when the asphalt was littered with soda can tabs. It goes without saying, mobile phones and car phones are a rare sight. It is back when answering machines and telephones were sold separately, where office workers lined up at phone banks in front of the train stations; passing by young lovers, their wrist-watched hands tightly clasping the receiver, overhearing their worries, sorrows and misunderstandings reverberating through the ring of the telephone.
