Comics and Cartoons to Invade Niagara Falls

The Can-Am Comics and Anime Expo will be held in Niagara Falls Canada at the famous Skylon Tower, March 12-14, 2010.

The show will feature displays from exhibitors covering both of these popular and interesting genres. While comic books and their collectors have been almost timeless, the Japanese cartoon animation forms (Anime) are relatively new.

Anime has become a popular world wide phenomena due to their challenging plots, creative costumes and on going stories of intrigue.

At shows such as The Can-Am Comics and Anime Expo, it will be common to see show attendees dressed in the costumes of their favorite Anime Character.

There will be a continuous run, Anime Video theatre and Open Stage where various contests such as Best Costume, Name That Tune and other games will be featured, throughout the three day event.

For the comic book fanatics, one of the North East's largest display of new and used collectibles and readables will be featured from over 50 major and lesser known dealers from Canada and the United States.

The Artist's Gallery will feature drawings and paintings from today's creative geniuses. All the artists will have products for sale and will themselves be competing in the People's Choice Best Drawing Award to win the first prize of $250.00 cash and a feature spot in all future shows.

For the intellects who like to know the How's and Why's of Anime and it's diverse and colorful characters and plots, free panel discussions and forums will offer the chance to hear the experts and offer inputs for all attendees.

Providing the topics for the discussions will be the entrants in the ANIME CLUB CONTEST during which the crowd will vote for their favorite topic and presentation with the winning club receiving the first prize monies of $1,000.00. Comic book creators and seasoned collectors will also be sharing their knowledge and crafts in several of these free sessions.

Attendees will be able to meet and greet the some of the more popular voices of Anime in the show's autograph section, staffed by actors who produce the products.

With the venue offering access to over 20 million possible attendees from both sides of the border, the show, while in it's first year, gives all indications of being widely successful due to the lack of other similar events ever being held in the area.

The Skylon Tower itself, is one of The Fall's principle attractions offering panoramic views of the whole lush Niagara region as well as having a large full service arcade plus food court and other features. All of the famous Niagara Attractions are located within walking distance of the Can-Am Comics and Anime Expo assuring that many families will make a it a fun weekend to come to the Falls.

Show hours will be Friday March 12 from 5-10, Saturday from 10 until 7 and closing day, Sunday March 14 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Daily admissions will be $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Week End passes will be sold for $35.00 for the event.
