“CHIKA*CHIKA IDOL,” the soon to be crowdfunded original anime project is unveiling its English site. The anime will be directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori, known for his work on A Certain Magical Index and Azumanga Daioh. The official homepage will feature a free English Manga. CHIKA*CHIKA IDOL's crowdfunding activities will commence on February 5, 2016 on Kickstarter in the US and Makuake in Japan. To celebrate the opening of the site, smart-phone wallpapers present will be given out to all fans who share on CHIKA*CHIKA IDOL's Facebook page. The wallpaper present campaign is started on today for two weeks.

CHIKA*CHIKA IDOL is an anime project following the everyday lives of a group of “underground idols.” The anime will use “Cell Look,” a 3D animation technique that replicates the looks of traditional 2D cel drawing, and will be jam packed with rocking, on stage performances!

Since the CHIKA*CHIKA IDOL animation project will be crowdfunding its first release, it means all fans will be walking hand in hand with the Chika Idols in their grand debut!

The February 5, 2016 crowdfunding launch date will be on Kickstarter for English speaking audiences and Makuake for Japanese speaking audiences. Rewards to be included are a digital download of the anime for $25 and a special edition Blu-ray package for $50, along with other special items.

The grand opening of the official English website will have the first series of English translated Manga featuring the Chika Idols along with the “CHIKA*CHIKA CHANNNEL” where fans can get all the latest from the Chika Idols themselves. New Manga releases will be scheduled to coincide with the Japanese release as much as possible.
