25 Awesome Things to Do at Otakon 2022

Washington, D.C. (July 24, 2022) – Our head of guest relations, Ethan Kick, has created the following list of
things to do at Otakon 2022.

1. Don't miss out on the chance to meet the amazing English veteran voice actors we've brought out this
year. We've got industry veterans Steve Blum and Beau Billingslea. Who doesn't want the chance to
hang with Spike and Jet at their panels all weekend?
2. Come see the crew from Carole and Tuesday. Celeina Ann, the singing voice of Tuesday, and
Motonobu Hori, the director, are both joining us this year. They'll talk about their time on Carole and
Tuesday, as well as their own panels on their careers.
3. Rock and Roll with our Friday night K-pop concert! We have American Song Contest winner AleXa, K-
Rock powerhouse Rolling Quartz, and K-pop stars PIXY, hosted by the amazing journalist and
producer Lai France.
4. If video games are more your speed, we have a pair of guests right up your alley. Video-game
composers Harumi Fujita and Takahiro Izutani will be joining us. You know Fujita-san for her work on
classics such as Megaman 3, Bionic Commando, and Ghosts n'Goblins. Izutani-san is best known for
his work on music in the Metal Gear Solid Series, Bayonetta (1&2), and Yakuza 2.
5. If you are among the hardcore anime faithful, we have some pretty cool guests from the My Teenage
Romantic Comedy SNAFU. We are joined by producer Masazumi Kato, Seiyuu Chado Horii (Kakeru
Tobe), and author Wataru Watari. We are especially excited to be joined by the award-winning series
creator of My Teenage Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Wataru Watari.
6. If you are into the new CG anime wave, then come see panels from producer Yoshihiro Watanabe
from Orange. You may know Orange from their work creating Beastars and the upcoming TRIGUN
STAMPEDE.
7. Maybe CG gets you excited in a different way, and you've hopped on the Vtuber and holo avatar wave.
Come and check out Kiral Poon and Masafumi Mikami from Gugenka as they talk about creating the
models behind all your favorite holo avatars and holo anime crossovers.
8. In the realm of the internet, we are also joined by a few different content creators this year. We have
two of the biggest anime TikTok creators out there, Jose Estrada and KingChris. Come join their crazy
antics in person at their panels and around the convention.
9. While the TikTok guests are having fun, maybe Twitch and YouTube are more your speed. Unless
you've been under a rock marathoning One Piece, you've seen the wacky videos from Kaho Shibuya.
Kaho has made a bunch of over-the-top videos delving into all of the goofy and different parts of
Japanese culture and is ready to meet all of you in person.
10. Maybe you are more into the K-pop side of YouTube, in which case, make sure to check out the ZB
label panel with Junhong Kim, Angelina Foss, and Jenny Zha, as they talk about what goes into
making K-pop music videos and the work that goes into showing off your favorite stars. Junhong Kim,
in particular, you have seen his work with artists such as BTS, Psy, and Girls Generation, among
others.
11. Some of you may have noticed that we have more voice actors. We are also joined by the amazing
Zeno Robinson, Tiana Camacho, and Ricco Fajardo. Whether it's Ricco outdoing all of Class A as
Mirio in My Hero Academia, or Tiana Camacho's antics as Ermes Costello in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure:
Stone Ocean, you have heard them all more than once. You may know Zeno for his role as Hawks in
My Hero Academia, but did you also know he is Cyborg in Young Justice and Hunter in The Owl
House? Make sure to check out their panels and snag an autograph if you have time.
12. Some of you may be saying, that's great, but I know you have Japanese voice actors, as well. And you
would be right. We are joined by some incredible veterans besides just Horii-san. We are joined by
Mariya Ise, Toshio Furukawa, and Shino Kakinuma. Mariya Ise has many incredible roles, but some of
her biggest are Foo Fighers from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, Hwan Paorin/Dragon Kid
from TIGER & BUNNY, Yoshino Somei from Spriggan, Ray from The Promised Neverland, Killua
Zoldyck from HUNTER x HUNTER, and Reg from Made in Abyss.
13. Since Ise-san took up a section all by herself, we will give the Furukawas a slot of their own. This
incredible Seiyuu couple has been knocking it out of the park with your favorite anime series for a
while. Furukawa-san is the voice of Piccolo in Dragonball and Ace in ‘One Piece’! Kakinuma-san
you've heard as Videl in Dragonball and Molly in Sailor Moon.
14. We've talked about voice work for a while, and I think it's time to go back to music. We have a visual
kei treat with G.L.A.M.S. They have had incredible success in bringing Japanese music across Europe,
and now they are coming to Otakon!
15. We have an incredible music treat Sunday, as well. Come check out the Otakon Sun and Stars
Concert. It will have music from our guest anime composers Kaoru Wada and Yuki Hayashi. You know
their music from Inuyasha, Haikyu!!, and My Hero Academia. It will have a rock band and orchestra
blowing everyone away for almost two hours!
16. Maybe the new Cyberpunk anime has your interest or Star Wars: Visions. Studio TRIGGER will be
joining us again this year. Yoh Yoshinari and Hiromi Wakabayashi will be talking about their work so
far and projects on the horizon, being one of Japan's favorite anime studios.
17. What anime con would we be without Bandai? Bandai Namco Filmworks and Producer Hiroyuki
Kikukawa are excited to show off RWBY: ICE QUEENDOM and Yurei Deco.
18. What event would be complete without cosplay? We once again have the Hall Costume Contest with
some amazing judges. This year we are joined by the incredibly talented Jessie Pridemore,
ProfessorSensei, and Chiara Scuro.
19. The Masquerade isn't going anywhere either with some incredible new performances, a halftime show,
and some soon-to-be-announced judges.
20. If you want some late-night fun, we also have Lyra's Ball and the Saturday Dance. Come be formal at
Lyra's Ball, and show off your fancy anime side Friday night. Also, feel free to be the anime degen that
exists in all of us and go hard at the dance on Saturday!
21. We've talked about a lot of the super-fun guests and events this weekend. but we also have amazing
exhibition halls that are packed to the gills. We have an incredibly full Dealers Hall to buy all of your
favorite goods from figures and models to clothes and much more!
22. Also, if you want to really show off your fun side, check out the Artist Alley. We have incredible works
from dozens of artists with prints, accessories, and many more cool arts and crafts you never knew
you needed in your life.
23. If you just want to sit down and game for a bit, we have you covered, as well! We have a huge gaming
hall filled with video games, board games, and arcades to have a blast with your friends without
lugging your systems from home. You can find me on Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: All-Star Carnival.
24. If you are about that hands-on craft life, then the Makerspace is for you. Come and build tons of cool
pieces from art to props and much more! There are plenty of incredibly talented people to guide you,
as well, if you just want to give it a shot.
25. Maybe after all of this stimulation, a nice book is what you need to cool down. Catch up on that one
volume you missed in the Manga Library. Maybe a guest interested you throughout the weekend, and
you can read the first volume from the show they were in.
26. I lied: there is one more thing. Have fun! It can be sitting with friends showing off all the stuff you
bought or autographs you got signed to rocking out at a concert. You can go learn about the industry
or hear from your favorite guest's experiences. Be friendly, and safe, and have a great time at Otakon
2022!
