The List
6 Worst First Kisses in Anime

by Lynzee Loveridge,

A first kiss can be a special, a treasured moment shared between two romantic partners. Or it can be haphazardly stolen by some jerk trying to one-up his friend or caused by a pratfall down a flight of stairs. Today's list ticks off the absolute worst first kisses anime has to offer, from meme-able pranks to bee guts to Saran Wrap!

Dio Kisses Erina (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) Imagine not only having your first kiss stolen by a self-absorbed bully, but that kiss being elevated to meme status thanks to his posturing afterward. "It was me, Dio!" became the punchline to any situation where a viewer was suspecting one thing, but Dio is there instead. Sure, she gets some relief by insulting him after wiping the kiss away with dirty puddle water, but Erina's stolen first kiss will continue to live as a fandom joke.

A Blood-Induced Trance (Blood+) Saya's first kiss is taken by Haji as a last ditch measure to get her to awaken and defeat an attacking Chiropteran. She needs to drink blood to do this, so Haji more or less force feeds it to her on the floor of a classroom in front of her brother. Saya enters a strange trance only to awaken covered in blood. Not exactly a memory for the scrapbook.

Kiss Full of Bee Guts (Daily Lives of High School Boys) Hornets are no laughing matter. As a true test of friendship, Hidenori attempts to crush a hornet that lands on Yoshitake's face—with his mouth. The very large insect goes splat, all over Yoshitake's face. This guy lost his first kiss to his friend and ended up with hornet guts all over his face in one go.

All Wrapped Up With No Place to Go (My Love Story!!) Takeo is adjusting to his new girlfriend's desire for physical intimacy, something in which he has zero experience. Instead of buying up a bunch of magazines or watching movies to master the art of kissing, he "enlists" the help of his best friend Sunakawa. When I say "enlists", I mean he corners him with plastic wrap (so it "doesn't count") and puts his lips on Sunakawa's. It might have just been practice for Takeo, but Sunakawa looks downright terrified.

Hana Punches the Crap Out of Kiyoshi (Prison School) The premise of Prison School is simple: an all-girls school integrates to allow boys, but the girls hate the idea and do anything in their power to get them to leave. It's the second half where the show goes to extremes, as shown by Hana purposefully stealing Kiyoshi's first kiss as torment since he likes another girl. Only Hana turns the sadism up to 11 by also attempting to make him pee into a bottle, a task that is extremely difficult because the kiss gives Kiyoshi a boner. When he won't pee or continue to kiss her, she punches him and then uses the kiss theft as blackmail. Believe it or not, things can only get weirder from here.

Makeout Session Turns Cannibalistic (Kemonozume) Masaaki Yuasa's horror series is not for the faint of heart. It eschews traditional anime style and goes full-speed ahead into monster battling gore. That said, it's not without its absurd moments. The audience is introduced to a high school boy and his crush Takako kissing on a bench in the park for the first time. After some graphic tongue wrestling, the anime goes into a first person view where we discover the boy has blacked out and eaten half of Takako. After he realizes what he's done, he barfs up the other half.
