Can you think of any?
I know there was a DBZ parody/reference in Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and of course, the "Grey's in Anime" bit on MAD. |

Just last week South Park did a Totoro parody song (has some profanity, I mean, it's South Park, what else did you expect?)

Also poked fun of Pokemon with the Chinpokomon episode. Anime-style animation was also used in an episode called Good Times with Weapons where the boys imagined themselves as ninjas after buying real weapons from a shady amusement park vendor where the episode poked fun of how America gets more controversy from depictions of sex over violence. |

And South Park has also had AKIRA references, and several other things.

Just today's Halloween episode American Dad has a Totoro costume, not to mention an upskirt shot of Chun-Li costume.

Well...I can't think of any in Western animation, but I can definitely point you to western references in anime.
Take Rurouni Kenshin for example - there's a million and one X-Men references/homages/tributes in that one. |

An episode of Symiotic Titan had a scene very similar to Asuka's spoiler["death-by-spear" scene ]from End of Evangelion. In it a giant monster was spoiler[pierced by a giant spear and then slumped backwards] just like in EoE.

I'm several episodes behind on that, but in the episode I watched the other day, there was a scene that was a dead ringer for the "Unit 01 smashed into hillside" sequence from one of Eva's first episodes. Considering that Sym-bionic Titan is essentially Genndy Tartakovsky's love letter to mecha anime, it makes perfect sense. |

Avatar the last Airbender- the Dragon Dance from 3rd series seems to be a bit too similar to Fusion Dance from DBZ.

There's also Megas XLR, which had about gazillion references in every episode. They even managed to reference Sailor Moon in a mecha show.

If one is allowed to change "western animation" to "western media," then Megatokyo, and several other more traditional webcomics. But mostly Megatokyo.

Don't ever mention that show in front of me again... Every time I hear of it, I recall it's cancellation, and this murderous impulse takes over.... |

Well just to mention the Western cartoon Kappa Mikey is influenced by anime and is filled with anime references, well it is kid of like American cartoon character goes to japan where everyone is in the style of anime. A cab driver appears to be a middle aged Speed Racer, small monster creature can only say it's name (in the show's show), a plastic surgeon called Takashi Katashi wears a headband over one eye. Aswell as random other things, often done in parody fashion.

An episode of Kids Next Door had a DBZ paraody where number 4 fought a frieza-like being, went super sayian- but only his hair (and not his muscles) actually grew and he fell over from the weight.
Not anime specifically, but an episode of Chowder about chewing gum ended in a Katamari Damacy homage. Oh! And Dexter's Laboratory did an episode that was one big Speed Racer spoof. Actually, anime references are pretty common in Western cartoons- it's not that odd, if you think about it. The people who make animation like animation, so I'm sure most of them have seen some anime. It's going to trickle in here and there. |

The Simpsons referenced anime a couple of times. There was that episode where they went to Japan and they all got seizures from watching "Battling Seizure Robots" which was a reference to the Pokemon episode that gave kids seizures.
