I'm sure this is 100% official, since it was announced by an administrator (SwimBuddha) on the official Adult Swim message boards.

Cowboy Bebop the Movie: Knockin On Heaven's Door = Fall 2005

Metropolis = Early 2005

TWO Inuyasha movies = Spring & Summer 2005

Wow, I really didn't see Metropolis coming. That'll be good, I really liked that movie. The first Inu Yasha movie is old news, but Cowboy Bebop surprised me, I thought another station had the rights to that one. Interesting that they talk about new shows but don't mention Super Milk Chan. Hmmm....

It seems like the admin was only mentioning movies, which explains the absence of other new anime.

He mentioned other shows they were getting, but none of them were anime, so I didn't think they were worth mentioning.

Cowboy Beop will very likely show up on other channels first, CN is just the first non-pay channel.

I wonder how much they'll edit out. I'm guessing they'll cut it down to 1 1/2 hrs long.

There is absolutely nothing in that movie that will require editing to be aired on Adult Swim. Everything that movie has - if not worse - has appeared in other shows.

But I guess this depends on if Williams Street gets to edit it or Sony does it for them.

Looks like the boys on Williams Steet are taking the old Toonami movie idea and adapting it for their own purposes. Rock on! ^___^

I think one part that will most likely be edited is the part on the Monorail where the innocent bystander gets shot in the head. It is very graphic. And I'm sure if you watch closely you'll find more stuff.

Don't forget the "Fanservice" scence with Faye and the lead Villian.

*sigh*

Already the focus has shifted from the fact that Adult Swim has picked up new stuff to air to the topic of what may or may not be edited, which may or may not actually lead to explicit examples being edited from the broadcast simply because people made a big deal about them beforehand.

I give up.

They aren't going to edit it because a few people on an internet forum said "i wonder if they will edit X out?" they will edit it based on what they, and perhaps their lawyers, feel is appropriate for younger audiences to see, so that the kids moms don't get pissed off at AS for airing adult content.

But this is Adult Swim, where they give warnings that clearly state the material is rated TV-14, so worrying about kids and their moments should not be a problem. Wolf's Rain and the more graphic episodes of Case Closed have shown what they are capable of airing.

And there have been instances where episodes were edited after people made a big deal about them on an internet forum (namely Toon Zone), most notably "Kikyo's Stolen Ashes" in Inuyasha and "My Birthday Pursuit" in Lupin III. And since we do know that CN knows about Kyle Pope, it's safe to asume that some folks from CN do browse these forums from time to time. Therefore, I personally feel it's better to be safe than sorry.

I'm not saying the Cowboy Bebop: The Movie won't be edited since I have no idea what AS' editing policies are, nor am I saying that people discussing possible edits on internet forums guarantee the edits will occur. All I'm saying is that I prefer covering all bases because I do not want to risk it being edited beyond what is necessary. After all, who would want another Blue Gender debacle?

Though I don't remember the exact context, ANN was mentioned by name on an Adult Swim card once (I'm fairly certain it was related to Kyle Pope, actually). They are watching.

Not very cool dude. Cartoon Network does a pretty decent job with anime in my opinion, considering they're a basic cable network.

Please capitalize, use punctuation, and don't make really really pointless one liners.
