Somehow I started watching Battle Girls and am up to Episode 7. There is just no denying the weird factor.

I suppose there is nothing wrong with an "all girls" cast but I am not sure what the point is. Can anybody suggest why other than the obvious, which makes no sense? Why go to all that trouble to set up a yuri-fest if they never intend to follow through and, fig-leaf all the nude scenes? It would have been better with male characters in half the roles.

I was hoping the story would pick up by now but it is looking pretty bleak.

I got 5 episodes in and the lack of decent fight-scenes and complete absence of yuri made this a complete waste of time. It should have just went all out on both those themes, instead it decided to completely mundane and utterly pointless to watch.

I got 3.5 episodes in before dropping it for the same reasons as Ranc. It had such an odd and wacky and yuri laden premise, but did everything in generic and mundane way. It was a waste of a potentially trashy good show. Also, that main girl was annoying as hell and I could not stand her and her complete lack sense. I know it's normal to be shot back into an alternate past, but don't check your goddamn phone every five minutes looking for bars, and open your eyes and mind a little. I mean, Dorothy found out pretty quickly she wasn't in Kansas anymore.

This is undeniably crappy show, but there are crappy shows I like and crappy shows I don't. I happen to like this one. It scores zero for innovation and can be called a "light comedy" because it's pretty light on actually funny comedy, but it usually manages to pry a few chuckles from my stony lips each episode. I enjoy watching big titty, deep-voiced Nobunaga (or as I like to call her, Gozungas) and the rest of the chicks. I like airhead Hideyoshi's even though she pushes the outer boundaries of satisfyingly rendered ditziness. I'm not twelve, so I don't care that the fight scenes aren't all, like, zowie-powie and stuff. But yeah, they really need to turn the yuri dial up to 11.

You guys must have a higher stamina level than I do. I only got half way through episode 1 before I said no more and dropped it. Even if I finished episode 1 I would have still dropped it due to limiting the amount of shows I watch at one time counting both the current seasons and other stuff I am watching at one time.

Not quite bad, but not something I anticipate every week. I didn't expect yuri and even good action scenes, because imo, this anime looked like a cheap brainless production from the get-go.
With that said, Nobunaga's archetype usually annoys me, but not in this case. In fact, she's quite entertaining. Actually, the 3 protagonists' types normally annoy me (perhaps because more often than not they're so generic/standard/ product of the same mold), but surprisingly here they don't.

It's probably on the bottom of what I'm watching this season along with a few others, though it's more enjoyable than at least another 5 anime from said bottom.

That can't be. Anyone who can endure Kirino has more mental stamina than I do.

You forget: most of us relied on Kuroneko to offset Kirino's influence, which thankfully she did with overwhelming quality.

As for the series in discussion: It's on my queue, but I've no rush to see it. When I read the preview guide discussing someone's ability to check their cell phone for bars, I pretty much gave up developing any desire to see it.

I put this one in a glass case with the message "Break In Case Of Anime Starvation And Nothing Else Is Available!"

There is no hammer.

I enjoyed Kirino, however that is off topic so that is all I will say about that.

The only hammer that should be used for that is a ban hammer.

It lasted longer than Dog Days. a whole two and a half episodes.

When I realized the whole point would be a weekly challenge to collect the armor pieces and most of the questionable humor relied on familiarity with the generals I bailed on it.

Oh-da Gozungas

Man, I don't care what anybody says - I love Dog Days. I find it adorably cute (although I get how some might find the cute insufferable as opposed to adorable). But beyond that, I give it props for one of the most unique fantasy "world rules" I have come across in quite some time. I think the show is vastly under-rated, assuming you don't have a genetic disposition against the philosophy of kawaii.

I considered this one of my guilty pleasures. I watched it mainly because I liked the Nobunaga character. Strong and worldly in some aspects yet naive in others. I also liked her voice actor.

And I agree with Blood- I adored the first season of Dog Days as well as the start of the second season. But I always accept an anime for what it is and what it is trying to convey and not for what I think it should be.

Bingo. It's based off of a series of pachinko machines. Pachinko machines.

Anywho, I'm on episode 7 myself. So far, I've really liked Nobunaga's character, and that's about it. I'll probably go on and finish it.

And am I the only person who prefers Kirino over Kuroneko?
