Haven't you heard. Everyone in the US listens to Rap now. There is no more Rock, Country, Jazz, Rag Time, Classical. They all fall under Rap. My Grandma, now known as Grand Master SS (Social Security), has start a new group called "Old Dogz". Razz Okay, that might be a touch overboard, but Fun changing music is not news to me. Thank God they left the BGM alone in Dragonball.

They've been butchering the music to sell to low-brow fad jockeys since they started with the series. Why stop now?

I gave up on Dragonball's translation integrity long ago. I just hope that the work they've done on other series like Fruits Basket and Yu Yu Hakusho is evidence that they've changed their ways. I still think it's a shame that DBZ wound up being changed so much, but if only one series is going to be treated that way I can't complain too much. Then all we have to dislike is the DBZ dub specifically, rather than FUNimation in general. One bad anime dub is always preferable to a bad studio that consistantly produces bad dubs, no?

But they actually did a fairly decent job with Dragon Ball, and they seem to be treating their other properties well. The only big problem they had was the DBZ dub, which was pretty inexcusable; but they were apparently getting over their major shortcomins there with the work they were doing in other shows (although they never seemed to make any effort to try to correct the problems with Z...I would have thought "better late than never" if they started using the original music, even if it was 100 or 200 episodes into the show). I don't know why it's necessary to take a step backwards like this. Especially with Dragon Ball GT...I mean, just about the only decent thing about that show was its music, and now it's gone, so that show will have absolutely no redeeming value. Although I must say, I can't wait for initial reactions from all the American DBZ fans who can't wait to see GT, despite the fact that most people who have seen it hate it (myself included, if you hadn't gathered that already...).

Atleast the last half couple of ep of DBGT has a small redeeming value, just about enough to pull me in, but will I watch it on TV, it depends how bad the music is, but atleast the DVD are good to fall back on.

I'll definitely be spending my money on the Dragon Ball DVDs, rather than GT. They're a great price, and they're not nearly as bad as GT. And the fact that certain stores are ignorant and put down the wrong retail price helps. Almost half price! Very Happy

The last three episodes were okay. I did like how it ended. But one decent episode followed by two good ones don't make up for the preceding 61 episodes of crap.

It all a matter of option though. When CN rolls it out (late 2003) the fans may eat it up or spit it out. Since I have already seen the fansubs of it, I'm just going to wait to see how the dub turns out.

Well, I guess they got tired of using that stupid electric guitar, so they figured out another way to lure in the gangstas that like DBZ. Not to be stereotypical, but it's what i see. The home-boys goin on about DBZ, why not lure them in more by using rap?

It's all a bunch of crap. I can't imagine what they did to hitorijinai.
