Put a spoil tag or spoil warning. Nice job of ruining it for everyone who hasn't seen it yet. Very nice job.

Don't worry. The stuff mentioned by AKOrtega is pretty much superficial to the actual plot of the series. It only serves as a very slight exposure to the way these characters feel towards Claus, though none of it really makes a difference in his actions or how the story progresses.
As for the answer, I guess I'd say:
He ended up with Lavie. It only makes sense because they spent a majority of their lives around each other, they both had that passion for flying, and after that whole ordeal with their fathers, it was probably the deciding factor that made them so close.

Yeah, Tony. You pretty much hit the issue.
No one would have been able to compete with their shared history, and although we never see anything concrete I would be very surprised if they didn't wind up together after the series. I didn't pick up on anything with Alister except mutual respect. Tatiana was on the verge of mistaking his friendliness and kindness for more than it was, but I think Alister's little talk with her on the matter steered her in the right direction. Sophia's kiss was a bit of an eyebrow-raiser, but I chalk it up to her being overwhelmed by gratitude for a split second because he talked to her when she really needed someone. I don't think anything more would have ever happened.
If anything, I think it's far more likely that Lavie could have temporarily wound up with Mullin when she misinterpreted Tatiana wearing Claus' overalls, because she really did like him very much, but that would have been a disaster and fortunately for everyone - including himself - Mullin refused to take advantage of the situation.

I'm not so sure. I think that Claus and Lavi's relationship was more of a brother/sister kind of thing, because they literally grew up together and were best friends since before they could remember.
I think the series intentionally leaves the "who did Claus end up with" question open because that was 1) not really at all much of a focus, but more of just a personal character drive element that didn't need to be resolved, and 2) because Claus and Lavi are still young at the end of the series, and all the other relationship questions have been answered, so it's not really an issue of "who ended up with whome," since there was one major romance that did end happilly, but it didn't involve Claus OR Lavi, or Tatiana, etc., but rather two more minor characters, and THEIR union also had a bigger impact in that it also signified the coming together of two nations who'd long been at war with each other.

Oh, yes, I completely agree with everything you posted - that was the real love story of the series. The resolution had me grinning from ear to ear, especially considering the horrible way we thought it had turned out. And it couldn't have happened to anyone who deserved it more!

That's for sure. The guy definitely deserved a sweet girl such as her, considering his high sense of honor and purpose. It's funny. Earlier in the series, some of the high-ranking officers speak of true knighthood, etc. when they're not being very noble and honorable and here's this fellow who essentially DOES define knighthood in his service, honor, integrity and true nobility. Def. one of my fav. characters in the series.
