Awesome! It might not have made it better than previous Metal Gear games but Rising became one of the fastest selling action games after the original Devil May Cry. It is Platinum's best opening. And here I was thinking Japan wouldn't like Rising due to its visual content.

Well Kojima can get away with the fact that Raiden lost white blood in Solid 4.
Also, I think he did that considering Eastern games don't such excessively violent games. I mean Mortal Kombat and God of War never became famous in Japan.

Oh we know why it was done even while it's still in development, kinda like excessively ero moe games in Western markets. It shows censorship doesn't preclude people buying.
