I would just like to chime in that I very much appreciate occasional deviations from what a column for a publication usually covers. Reading the account of the piano event Jonathan attended reminded me of when I used to go to music performances during high school and college. Thanks for sharing your experience, Jonathan, on how events using music can move people.

Yeah, for real! This concert reminds me of a time I went to the Spokane Symphony to see one of Mahler's pieces done (#3, I think...). What made it extra cool was that the conductor did the whole thing without any sheet music in front of him. I don't know if that's common or anything, but it sure sent chills down my spine.
