Jesus I can't believe I almost let an incredibly high-quality shounen romance get under my radar. I watched the 1st ep and promptly abandoned the series as more of the same schoolyard romance crap.
I almost made a terrible mistake. The most striking thing about the series is the fact that it's an adult romance -- that just isn't done in anime form. What makes it good is the incredibly tight screenplay, superb direction and motivated plot. God does this show know how to move, very little time is wasted. The writing is top notch -- the characters are human, and the psychology is both deep and easily identified with. Highly, highly recommended. Watch this show. I haven't been this addicted since probably around '97 when I was ordering fansubs of NGE on tape. |
