SURELY with the almost unanimous hatred this show generates it can't be pulling in better ratings than the likes of Lupin!
 Jesus, I've never met a single person YET that's liked this thing, so surely it's under Cartoon Network's "ratings bomb" category, thus shouldn't be airing...
But then, who knows? It's on the 1:30 time slot, so it's probably getting a rub by people tuning in for the Family Guy replays.

I liked the series also. Although I have to admit that I was disapointed with the ending.

Now that I've actually watched Reign, it's surprisingly decent. I wouldn't run out and buy the dvds, but it's ok to watch on tv.

OH GOD NO!
CN has failed me once again by not having any new Lupin and showing reign.Reign started off okay,but after episode 2 it got boring.They could at least rerun Wing uncut.Though my favorite choice would be for it to host 2 Williams Street shows in the time slot. |

Sadly, Cartoon Network lost the distribution rights for Gundam Wing a couple years ago. Bad move on their part, IMO, since that was a huge fan-favourite, and is one of the few Cartoon Network shows that can boast that it kicked DBZ's ass in the ratings.

I actually watched Reign last night, and I think it's a god-awful series. However, I do think Alexander's mother is pretty interesting (and scary). But besides that, the character designs are pretty horrible. After the first few episodes there's really no reason to watch anymore.

While I have not seen the CN version of this show, I do own the dvds. There is quite a bit of nudity in some of the early episodes, and since I know that these scenes were cut out in order to air those episodes, some of these scenes were important to the story. I do not think that you should judge this show simply by the TV version.

Well, that's the problem. If I can't stand the series already, what motivation is there for me waste money on the DVDs (buying or renting) so that I can gauge it based on a couple new scenes? Besides, unless it was given a completely shit treatment a la Kenshin or Blue Gender, I doubt a couple minutes of new scenes is going to turn around an entire series.

What exactly didn't you like about the show? Was it the character designs? I know Peter Chung's designs tend to throw some people off. If that is the case then, yes nothing in the dvds would change your opinion. But if the problem is only story wise, then you might be surprised if you sat down and watched the dvds.

The story, the cast (not their designs, the fact that most of them just felt so flat)...but unless they cut out a lot of seriously groundbreaking sentences, I doubt I'll be swayed. I guess I can give it a chance when I have some free cash & time, but there are a lot of other series I'm a bit busy with right now that take priority.
