There's not that much at all, man. We could honestly use more. Can't remember the last time an actual loli hentai got released. NTR seems like the big thing these days.

Because that's what most fans seem to like these day, not a big fan of it but then again it keep the industry alive despite I don't find it attractive and appealing to me.

Oh and I first heard about this via Japan Today when they sent me email about various headline.

I seen it on Japantimes an hour ago, I'm satisfied with the ruling, it preserves freedom of expression and gets the truly gross content out of circulation.

It's more common in print stuff, but Murakami did do some loli-related stuff recently

This was on international TV on BBC News, with a picture of anime girls of course. Laughing

Anyways, Japan has an obsession with youth, imaginary and real.

Isn't this also what they claimed about the Tokyo bill, which ended up totally affecting anime and manga anyway?

This was a very smart decision for the Japanese government to make.
Because if they did include manga & anime to this law, there would've been extremely catastrophic consequences to artistic freedom of speech/expression in Japan.

A year to dispose of the real stuff a.k.a giving them time to hide it and/or make "morally right" think you got rid of it.

In the end, manga & anime characters are just lines drawn on paper.

Because that's what the Otaku like, and that's what an industry that has devolved into mostly being a niche provider does.
If you think the common Japanese man/woman is ok with this ecchi and hentai involving children you're sadly mistaken. It's a niche and unfortunately it's a powerful niche.
Any adult man/woman that gets excited reading ecchi/hentai involving children is just a sick piece of shit and either needs medical attention or be thrown in jail.

If a creative industry cannot survive doing away with ecchi/hentai stories/animation involving children then it's time to let that industry wither away. Or better legislate it out of existence.

The vast majority of it in physical possession are the many artsy books depicting nude models, idols, and actors legally circulating prior to 2000 when the law allowed nudity without sex. It's because of this possession alone has not been criminalized until now. It's also why they're giving an extra year for people to get rid of these that they've held onto.

One famous (or infamous if you knew her age) coffee table photobook "Santa Fe" is of the drama actress Rie Miyazawa. I doubt anyone would call this "gross" at all. In fact it's still being sold right now on Amazon US and Japan. ANN covered one artist who was charged with child porn distribution in a very stretched interpretation of the law when he used models from such a legal photobook as the basis for his CG artwork:
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-07-27/first-cg-child-pornography-arrest-in-japan-detailed

But this highlights a danger of the laws that's not fixed with the proposal and likely made worse. What if your inspiration or artistic model was a young adult? Encountering someone nude itself is not illegal (e.g. friends at home or bathhouses) Yet they could do the exact same thing they did to this guy.

Glad to know you support thoughtcrimes. So you'd throw Carl in jail for his review of Ikkitousen Xtreme Xecutor then?
For acknowledging the pleasures in seeing
Quote:
Ripe bodies contort, tongues flop, crotches jam into the camera, and shirt fronts explode as if made of nitroglycerin, allowing breasts of every size, shape, and nipple contour to drink the sweet, sweet air of freedom.

... Yuji Shiozaki's characters are among anime's best-designed, with memorable coloration, heavily stamped personalities, and a distinctive, earthy sexuality.

Or that such shows should be legislated out of existence? (Nevermind the fact that such shows do not comprise the majority of anime at all)

I'm honestly shocked that they're just deciding to make this illegal now... Why the hell has this taken so long?
Though this is the first bill I've seen in a while that makes sense - I'm not really into loli, but a drawing doesn't hurt anyone or involve any child abuse. So it's quite right that they're being excluded in this law. I'm glad they're actually thinking about what they need to get rid of, and what's totally safe.
