Nintendo is doomed!
No wait. I mean that other thing. |

The game is excellent, nothing too much wrong with it outside that one bug with Peach online (which will be fixed in less than a week), just be careful while playing or the rubber on your analog stick will pop clean off (you can put it back on and keep playing if it happens), I have the game and it happened to me yesterday evening.

Also there's talk that a Super Smash Bros Wii U could be released in November according to several game sources.
But that's good news for the 3DS version of the game. |

I'm waiting for the Wii-U version. Sold the demo codes Nintendo gave me for 20 bucks a pop since I'm that uninterested in the 3DS version. Seems like fighters on a handheld where you're moving the screen around inadvertently would be awkward to me.

I've been playing the demo, and playing on the handheld is damn near perfect. The only issue right now is that you can't rebind your controls. But you will be able to do that in the full version. |

I have the full Japanese version now and I agree. The game runs smooth as all heck and basically feels like playing a new Smash Bros game in the palm of my hands. I do wish I had an XL because figuring out hitboxes on the original, smaller screen is a pain in the butt (especially since I have some eye focusing disabilities, which makes the smaller screen a nuisance to me most of the time in most games). But besides that, the game runs so perfect even WITH the 3D on (when you turn the 3D on, it runs the background at a slower fps to allow the characters to continue playing at normal fps). They obviously worked hard to make this 3DS version of the game possible and it shows. I'd be hard-pressed to find any actual cut corners, even in comparison to Brawl. The only thing the 3DS version messed up that I know of is the Ice Climbers. Sakurai said they cannot be in the game because the 3DS wasn't able to run 4 pairs of them at full fps with items on during full 3D. Considering the game is the smoothest-running 3DS game I own thus far, despite its complexity, I suppose this is a good thing. I'd hate to see the game falter because of the limitations of the system after they spent so much effort making it work this nicely. |

I highly suspected that the Ice Climbers absence had to with hardware limitaions.
I also suspect that that is why all the transformation characters can no longer transform. Since those character models all have to be loaded into active memory during a match where they are on screen or not. So you get four transformation characters in the same match. That's 8 actually character models in memory (Or 12! if you're all Pokemon trainer!) |

It's doing well. It will be interesting to see if this will give the Wii U a bost when it arrives.

Well I'm excited about this! If it weren't for the fact the Pokemon Hoenn remakes are coming out the next month and I'm saving money for that, I'd be buying the game the day it comes out. Guess I'll have to wait for Christmas!
