Funny, I was just talking to a friend today about this series. And here I thought this was a green light to season 2. I hope it comes soon, because I have no idea how well it sold in Japan.

It must've had a decent following for a spin-off manga to go for almost 3 years.

This will probably be better off being adapted into an OVA series.

I've never really been interested in spin-offs, but I do hope that first season gets a second one. It was a really enjoyable show for me.

some spin-offs are ok
the watamote spin-off is pretty interesting

genshiken 2 is kind of a spin-off or a sequel

railgun is a spin-off

but some spinoffs are really bad
like tenchi muyo

Are you referring to the recent series of shorts called Ai Tenchi Muyo? If so, then I agree 110%. I watched the first episode and I felt like shooting myself. That's how horrible it was.

Its average on disc was 11,734, not sure about how much it increased sales of the LN's though. Based off disc sales it has a pretty good shot at a second season.

Does Tenchi Muyo Universe count as a spin-off? I have it on DVD, it's an alright series.

Hey was wondering if there has been any new info of a season two of the original anime series, looked for information but haven't found any reliable sources with the google search.
