Excellent news as I wasn't sure how well S1 had done for them but clearly good enough. More, Blood has gotten off to a fab start, the new vampires are lovely, Kou and Azusa especially.

Definitely going on my to-buy list. Already have the first one (signed by some of the VAs) sitting on my shelves.

If there isn't sheets of blood flying through the air as the girl slaughters her tormentors/vile love interests in a vengeful rage; then they should stop with the blood stuff and just say what it really is. Diabolik Lovers II: Sadism to Love. Tag line: Torture brings out a True Heart.

^Thank you very much

I read about this title when I saw it was popular but no....
I know everyone has their own tastes but to think there's alot of young girls feeding on this feels icky.

But then again ridiculously dysfunctional romantic relationships are the new du jour.

The entire premise of this game is that the vampires are sadists xD The theme song for the first season was literally "Mr. Sadistic Night". And technically the age ratings (for the games, at least) are 17+. I haven't played the routes myself yet, but in most of the bad endings you literally are killed by your vampire lover, so I don't really think they're hiding their intentions here. Most people in the otome community can separate fantasy from reality, and know that their favorite personalities in the games/anime would be terrible romantic choices in real life.

That comma in the subtitle is just taunting me.

That aside, I'm fairly excited for this even as I disliked the doormat-chan MC from season 1. This series is a twisted, trashy fun time. Guilty pleasure in the most obvious sense, and that's just fine.

I am not part of the Japanese gaming community, so that doesn't apply to me. Nor was it part of my complaint.

I am just depressed that they wasted a perfect revenge scenario, with buckets of vampire blood for corruption porn. Nothing wrong with corruption or sadism in anime, just don't like those where the bad guys win in the end, and the girl is doomed or corrupted forever.

The comma in the title is killing me too. So unnecessary haha.

The bad guys aren't winning though. The anime is based on an otome game, which are literally dating sims for girls. The entire purpose is to end up in a romantic relationship with the character of your choice. (And if you fail, in some games you end up dead, like this one) It's a serious case of Stockholm Syndrome, for sure, but the entire point is for the girl to be "doomed or corrupted forever". Such is the female fantasy~

If the woman or girl falls in love with their tormentor or torturer, it kinda means that the bad or evil guy won.
