People see me do it the first time and think "There's no way he's gonna chose rock two times in a row." That's how I win. 3. My motto is, "No matter how strong you are, you can't out-wrestle a bear. However, you could possibily out-run one of the fatter ones." 4. I've memorized the original Spiderman theme song in case of emergencies. Ambitions: 1. Go to an anime convention. Becoming more possible now that I've got a job coming up, already have a car, and know several people that went to Otakon this year. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to one next summer. 2. Push the red emergency button at my school. In each classroom, there's a red button next to the door that contacts the main office in case of emergencies. Last year, my Italian teacher almost fainted, so the guy in front of me hit the red button. I still regret missing the oppurtunity. 3. Get a girlfriend. Many of my friends either have a girlfriend/boyfriend or have had one in tthe past. I'm considering asking a quiet girl who was in my English class last year. We know each other fairly well, and I don't think she likes anime/manga, but she does like some of the same authors I do. 4. Find a real wild bear in New Jersey. I've yet to see one, but everyone I ask seems to think they live here. I've still got my doubts, though. |

Wow I suck. I'm supposed to be part of the welcome crew and I've missed 7 people. Time to stop dwelling on my personal problems and get back to welcoming people. Well, when this thread first started I delayed making my profile, just so I could have a picture to go along with it. Naturally, I proceeded to immediately forget about getting a hold of any. Now, after bugging various people to send any digital pictures they have of me to me, I now have one. That's right, one; and it looks nothing like what I do now since I cut all of that hair off (now it's short, so I gel it and spike it forward). Oh well folks, sometimes that's just what happens.

Religion: None, I'm equally offended by all of them Books: Ender's Game, Anne McCafferey's Pern Movies: LOTR. For a while I also really liked The Last Samurai, though I haven't been able to watch this since the whole Scientology thing with Tom Cruise became big Hobbies: Magic the Gathering on and off Music: Everything but R&B, country, trance, soul, and any song that says the word "girl" more than 8 times in a minute. I'm a particularly large fan of Celtic music. Favorite sports: None that I watch on a regular basis. I'm not a big sports person, but I did pole vault in high school, even if I did injure myself right before districts my senior year 
Favorite food: Teriyaki, Chinese, Pizza... but most of all... Thai curry. Can't get enough of it. If I didn't have as much self discipline as I do when it comes to food, I know I'd be a fat fat guy right now. Favorite drink: Water. The only time I ever really drink anything else is when I'm mixing a drink to dilute the gut wrenching taste of terribly cheap alcohol. Drink/Smoke: Drink alcohol and smoke pot socially but don't smoke cigarettes and probably won't. I do however, love to drink, whiskey is my personal favorite... I gotta bottle of Jameson in the other room... maybe I should go get that right now  Honestly, I'm surprised at the number of people here, particularly legal people, who don't at least drink socially. I may be a college student... but I don't even know one hand's worth of sticks in the mud who don't even loosen up occasionally for a party.
Likes: On a warm day, with only a hint of a breeze, getting to walk on a path shaded by maple trees where the sun filters through a little and you can see the rays of sunlight. That happened last week, I was actually shaking with excitement it just felt so right
Dislikes: -People who ask for a favor then act like you're an a--hole for not bending over backwards to help them. Yes this is absolutely number one on the list, the rest aren't in order. -People who jump to conclusions prematurely -Hypocrites -People who tell you you're signing up for a full time job, only to let you know later you're on-call and they'll never need you -People who hate things just because they're popular -People who always let their preconceptions determine their opinion of something -Cheesy gimmicks treated seriously -People who treat basketball as the most amazing sport since slicing bread -People who drive under the speed limit -When a bird poops on your shoe while you're trying to take a nap outside -Willful ignorance -Vegetarians who act like they're on a moral crusade to "stop the evil meat eaters!" -Anyone who responds with pity when I tell them I don't believe their religion -Doom sayers -People who don't know when to shut up or don't realize that a few moments of silence won't kill anyone -Paranoid people -People who don't post pictures (ok, this is hardly the worst one on the list ;P) -White trash (or more accurately, people of any race who seem to revel in exemplifying negative stereotypes) -Nagging -When your roommate leaves the floor lights on in your car and kills your battery and you don't find out about until this morning when you're trying to race to get to work on time -Xenophobes -People who give in to their irrational unfounded feelings freely -Violent drunks -Spoiled milk -People who aren't open to trying new things -People who're so stuck on the rules they can't see the situation -People who enjoy flexing the fact that they have more power or authority than someone else -Materialistic people -People who get obsessed with just one show for months or years on end and never move on or look at things realistically/objectively -Fearmongerers -People who argue against all stem cell research but don't care about in-vitro fertilization, though I guess I could have just put "hypocrites" down again here -Desu (just kidding, nobody hates desu  )
-People who seriously think Tiger Woods is the "best athlete of all-time", only the first of a long list of things that he is better than everyone else ever at that I saw the other day on TV after the latest tournament he won -Nia and Rossiu -Getting so worked up from an episode only to find out there isn't another episode for another week -Celebrity gossip -Scratched DVDs -Actually, anyone who gives a rat's ass about anything any celebrity does just because they're famous -The fact that I'd honestly rather stare at the wall than play 80% of the new XBox 360 games (and yes, I've actually played pretty much all of them, see current job) -Pennies -Shaving -The idea that the US government doesn't print its own money -Getting caught in the middle of an argument -How Windows XP runs worse over time no matter what you do -Hearing about some mine collapse that killed like 9 people every 10 minutes on the radio for a week -BS parking tickets -Cheesy '80s movies -Talking on the phone -Gandhi (not quite as great of a guy as people sometimes make him seem) -Porkbarrel legislation, for some reason it bugs me even more when I'm a benefactor of such obvious corruption -How stores charge "$23.99", do they think we can't tell that's 24 dollars? -People who try to read into what I'm "really" saying -Copout endings -People who do things for the wrong reasons or justifications, even if they're right -Tomatoes -The different sizes of mechanical pencil lead -The smell of rain after it's been really hot (I guess that's just the smell of summer rain? That is a rather long list of dislikes Selenta. Then again, if I listed all of mine individually I'd get banned for extreme list posting lol. Though I do have a question for you, how did you get your handle? Sorry just been trying to figure out some the online handles for some of the people here and yours is one of the ones that's always stumped me. rather stupid question I know, that's what a good part of my brain is composed of. Sad but true.
I've noticed that as well. The majority of non-smokers doesn't surprise me really for some reason but the lack of social drinkers has. The one interesting thing (more of that useless crap going on in my brain) I noticed is your favorite drink is Whiskey. Nagisa said the same I believe. I wonder if that's the "moderator drikn of choice" here. Btw, you mention you really like Jameson right? Try "Red Breast." It's made by the same company that makes Jameson. In fact it's made at the same distillery I believe. Just a different process. It's a bit pricey at $40 bucks a bottle but man is it smooth as silk. |
