Looks alright, though I miss when mecha designs were a little bit more well designed. They just kinda all look the same and it gets hard to tell them apart now.

Considering the Kodama is usually the slowest train (stops in all stations, at least on the Tokaido line), it feels even more odd to me...

Gawd, I sure hope that train was out of revenue service at the time otherwise, there's going to be a whole load of either mince-meat crushed passengers, and the ones who survived will get motion sickness so bad, they wished they were crushed up.

The first thing I thought about was Team Shinkansen from Car Robots.

I wish, but these aren't particularly great toys, they lack leg articulation, are very flimsy, and have an annoying auto transformation that tends to go off by itself. I've been hoping for a higher quality version with decent articulation and no auto transformation, but they haven't made one yet.

All depends on the designer, if you've got a crap designer, then nothing anyone can do about it. Not everyone can be as good as masami obari.

So RID one step changer level? That's a shame. I've wanted one of these since they first announced them last year but it's disappointing to hear they're so simple. At least they look cool

I don't know how anyone will feel about this but to me,this seems to be a ripoff of shows like "Transformers","Challenge of the Gobots,"or "M.A.S.K." If this show introduces any American characters, they'll probably have them in planes or helicopters that transform into giant robots. For now,it'll be anyone's guess if my ripoff thing will be proved true or not.
