This seems like a subtle scheme from Japan of "Can we please get the birth rate back up? Fictional characters can't make children to continue on this nation!".

It's nice they are trying to do things like this. But to put restrictions on one gender over the other isn't right. It doesn't matter if it's male or female they are putting the restrictions on.That isn't right.

4million yen is generally considered the required income to maintain a family in Japan. Considering that the type of person who'd still bother with marriage agencies is also likely the type to want an equally traditional marriage, it makes some sense as a requirement. Of course that's assuming the whole thing isn't just a scheme to hook up paying older men with paid young women - which is a big assumption.

I'm interested to know why the difference between the salary requirements for each event: Is the loli event not expected to attract as discerning of low-rent gold-diggers as the others? That 500 000 yen would be sorely missed by the other attendees? The randomness of the ages, too, is pretty funny. "OMG, 42 is WAY too old to be interested in wine. But it's totes cool to go to a place of worship with."
Also, what happens if he takes a pay cut or loses his job before the wedding? Is it called off because he didn't live up to his end of the bargain?

A silent film depicting this article would be called "Rebirth of a Nation"

Shouldn't the Lolita party income requirement be higher because of the price of the clothes? lol
