Oh! I remember this being a thing since a few Comiket ago. Even some cosplay are from this media. But I never been big enough for 2 OVA.

Just think of all the things over the years in manga or novel format that HASN'T been animated. Or worse yet, a series that didn't get a second season for whatever reason or another.

This is literally animated by less than 5 people with a no name studio. Please research a bit before spouting ass out of your brain. Unless you think 5 people could animate 24 minutes episode each week you are delusional.

So... let me get this right... There is this and getting a second season and one room that does have two seasons. Yet Room Mate gets bad reviews and looks down upon? I mean, if you like this anime then that's fine but I am just curious on how this did so well yet the ones with the male characters always get bashed on.

Second "season" means another 24 minutes. This is softcore porn, no one is putting it on a pedestal. Not sure why you would need it explained why softcore porn sells well enough to justify what amounts to another OVA. That's not even getting into how it's a bit weird to compare their success given that this anime is a doujin project and Room Mate actually aired on TV.

I was actually disappointed by how tame it was. At least for the fansubs based on the streaming version, there was nothing at all that warranted an R18 as listed by Tora no Ana. I don't think the product itself has any such restriction either. It's so tame it could easily be on Crunchyroll and any streaming site. The doujinshi and artwork itself is also pretty tame.
