Mori is perhaps best known for her Emma manga about set in Victorian England.

Is that really true nowadays? The final volume came out on April 25, 2008 (an eternity ago in itself), and debuted at #10 on the charts. A Bride's Story typically ranks much higher in the first week or two of a new volume.

Mori is an amazing artist. Just the level of detail on display through his/her(?) manga never fails to make me go wide-eyed several times for each volume.

Although from the image, I thought said one-shot would be a side story about the two women from A Bride's Story that you see on said cover art. Well, until the article told me otherwise. ^^;;

I suspect that it is, perhaps simply because Emma was animated and A Bride's Story is not (currently, anyway).

Her. Mori is female, and she's drawn a self-portrait which makes that clear. And yes, her art really is impressive, as is the level of research she puts into historical details.

Noted. I'm not sure if I've ever seen that portrait. Has it been included in any of her manga? I've tried to figure it out via the sorta-bio shorts at the end of said manga volumes, but I was never really entirely sure.
