And this is just US earnings for 4 days. They'll make their budget back at the very least which is good.

Fair amount, that's the highest a video game movie has ever gotten, and of course that's just domestic as well. Combined with oversea's markets it's already made back it's budget and then some.

For video game adaptation? Damn lot, it's easily thrown out Detective Pikachu from #1 spot.
For modern movies box-office? Not quite, but still a lot. And yeah, they totally going in plus now.

Well native budget was $87M, I suppose if you add advertising might bump it up to $90M-$95M.

Rule of thumb is break-even at 3x the stated production budget. The film is a success but they definitely spent more than $10m on marketing.

The film has made about $120M so far if you include international numbers. I'd say it is doing very well for a video game movie. Also, it was a really good movie.

As I said in a previous thread about the film, I loved it. My favorite scene happened to be the bar fight, it was hilarious! Also, I have a feeling this will mark Jim Carrey's career resurrection. He hasn't been in a movie in 6 years.

For global advertising and distribution will cost more than the films production budget.

I don't know where you got $3-8 million marketing but that is hilarious the superbowl spot for Sonic cost over $5 million alone.

As a general rule, total budget is production x 2, including marketing and miscellaneous expenses.

This film had no competition though and looks like it may take $400 million worldwide by the end of it all, so expect a sequel, or other Sega movies. Who wants a Shinobi film?

That's not necessarily true. There are still marketing costs to consider, which aren't in the production budget. For example, Alita was a $200 million flop, despite raking in over $400 million.

Considering the amount of rework they had to put into Sonic design I'm glad the movie did well. Just hurts it beat out Detective Pikachu.

Nowhere, your questioning me about questioning someone's else's questionable numbers, we are getting inception levels here.

For all the ups and downs the movie had went through during its production history, I'm actually glad for Sonic being a success that it is. The fans got the design they wanted and the movie itself got decent numbers at the box office. Plus, Jim Carrey's trademark wacko antics lent itself well to the film. I don't know if that does signify a career revival but hopefully it means that "The Curse of the Cable Guy" is over for him.
