Kind of ironic erecting the "Freedom" Gundam on China.

Gah! Dang you guys, I was going to make that joke. Ah well, better luck next time. Maybe if they put the Justice Gundam in Hong Kong or something...

I remembered Tomino himself doesn’t have high opinions towards Seed, or any Gundam that is not UC, or did my memory betrayed me?

Also.... if I watch the stream right, they also planning to have OO raiser, Wing Zero custom and Unicorn Destroy mode statues planned in various mainland Chinese cities, are there any political jokes/irony to be found on those Gundams ?(I mean...besides they all serve as “rebellious machine against governments”)

Considering all the changes he did to Zeta, he probably regrets his own success

The second irony: Isn't it the cultural norm for the mainlander to openly hate and despise Anime and Manga, not to mention Japanese Culture?

Frankly.....with no offense intended, are your image/projection of mainland China stays at 90s and early 00s? There’s always people who openly despise everything foreign and people who love those things in open arms; and I have seen plenty of them from both parties first-hand (not from internet) from both Mainland China and Japan

It is international business, and Chinese money is good as any one else's.

Same, or actually I would say it should be somewhere in Japan since it's the best looking Gundam.

Maybe for their next ironic move they'll place the John Bull Gundam in Boston.
