Depending who you talk to, Superman is either the most human of all the DC superheroes, or as Zack Snyder portrays, an unfeeling messianic figure unsure of his destiny. I think a manga like this would fall in line with the former, the fact that he probably has opinions about food in Japan. Lots of them.
