It's interesting how many tokusatsu actors, especially leads, end up in BL productions. Then again, considering how much gay energy tends to radiate from toku shows I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise. Like, it's no wonder Kamen Riders Build and Cross-x keep popping up in BL stuff with how much big gay energy radiated from them interacting with each other.

I think they don't really "end up" in BL productions, more like they would do BL as well anyway. These guys are usually either idols, or cast specifically for being hot and handsome (so that moms who watch the shows along with their kids at home have some eye candy too), which is the normal state of affairs with most daytime/evening soaps.

They've done it for years; it's just that back then BL movies were mostly indie and only released direct-to-home release. A lot of young male actors have appeared in BL movies at some point, especially if they don't end up being A-listers, because a job is still a job after all.
