Nice. Watched it last week. It's pretty good in my opinion. It feels like "if Shinkai tries to make Ghibli." The age gap is kinda awkward once you notice it, but they have pretty good dynamics -- I didn't expect to care so much about a guy who spoiler[ spents most of the movie as a chair] . It helps that it's basically the most straightforward Shinkai film despite having very little exposition, and you can get what's happening just from the vibes.
It makes sense why it isn't as big as Your Name or even Weathering With You, but it's nice nonetheless. |
