Figured it'd take a lot longer for season 2 to come out, can't wait.

The first season of Call of the Night was one of my favorite anime of the 2020s thus far, but without having read the manga, I am wary of what direction the story might go from here. Season 1 was mainly a chill comedy that only occasionally turned up the seriousness a notch in regards to its romance and/or supernatural thriller elements. I really hope it stays that way, but it’s frightening how easily I can picture it becoming some lame gender-swapped anime Twilight or something.

I was 95% sure that Sentai/HIDIVE was getting this sequel, but it is awesome to have confirmation.

It definitely loses that chill comedy vibe, IMO, but I promise that it’s nothing like Twilight.

I've read 15 out of 20 volumes of the manga and everyone is in for a treat. This series goes crazy!

Season 1 was a show I wanted to like more than I actually did.

Seems it will be going in a different direction this time? Hmmm, I'll check it out...
