I am looking for an anime to get into. I already am interested in Fushig Yuugi, Ceres:Celestial Legend, Inuyasha, Rouroni Kenshin, Fruit Basket, and a Gundamn series (cant remember which one). I like action, romance, comedy, and sci fi but any really good anime that draws you into the story (one that u get addicted to) will be fine as I am flexible.

Read the sticky at the top of the anime forum. For a personal suggestion, I suggest X, Berserk, and RahXephon.

You should watch Haibane Renmei. It's just an overall good series. For a completely different reason, GTO is a good choice^^

Martian Successor Nadesico & Full Metal Panic! fit this description perfectly. Very Happy

If you like Ceres, you might like X (I suggest checking out the TV series before the movie), and FLCL's always a good recommendation. Since you didn't mention Cowboy Bebop in the above post, I guess I'll throw that one out there, too.

Flcl - funny and very good
Love Hina - so funny and you will get addicted
Cowboy Bebop - the best
outlaw star - funny action packed and great voice talent.
Witch Hunter Robin - almost as good as cowboy bebop
Last Exile - awesome anime (voices from trigun and FLCL and WHR)

Hellsing- great dark anime

titles im looking into are :
Argento Soma -bandai
Please Teacher -bandai
Arjuna -bandai
Dual
Ai Yori aoshi
His and her circomstances

Kaze no yojinbo -bandai
Wolfs Rain -bandai

I've noticed alot of bandai's titles kick ass cause they often come from the studio Sunrise which is the best and my favorite when it comes to anime.

Mostly what everyone else as suggested, and Full Metal Alchemist.

Well Full Metal Alchemist isn't licensed yet, but I do recommend it for the action and interesting concept/story. I'd also like to add Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu (I love this show, especially if your looking for comedy) and Chrno Crusade (Gun-toting nuns and demons set in the roaring twenties...very interesting indeed).

try watching tekkaman blade (mostly know under its edited form teknoman), the story is really great, it is mostly an action mecha anime but has a little twist of romance in it

I think Bandai owns Sunrise. Either that or they are a joint venture.

If you like romance and comedy both, then Kodomo no Omocha is one you could try. For scifi, try Key the Metal Idol.

If you have access to fansubs, I suggest you check out Peace Maker Kurogane. It's the new Kenshin; I'm serious. Very well done, music is good, and the action is Shocked. It's also quite addictive.

Of course, RK is very good as well. You can get the movie version of the OVA's if you don't want to spend more, and the box set for Tokyo Arc is out already, with the best one coming out April 1st (Kyoto Arc).

I suggest Cowboy Bebop or Trigun. Also, you might want to check out the Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin) OAV's Trust, Betrayal, and Reflections.

I will mirror what Nagisa said.

Action, Romance, Comedy, Sci-Fi are exactly what Maritan Successor Nadesico and Full Metal Panic are all about. He beat me to the post, is all.

I'll agree with most of the other suggestions on the thread, but those two fit the description of what you enjoy to a T and are your best bets.
